Becca became a social worker after a decades-long career as a freelance writer. A native of San Angelo, she graduated from Angelo State University first with a bachelor's in journalism and then a master's of social work with a clinical concentration. She is a licensed social worker through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Becca interned twice at WTCG, where she worked primarily with the homeless population and counseled individuals in crisis experiencing suicidal ideation; the latter population ranged in age from adolescents to seniors struggling with a gamut of issues, from extreme depression and anxiety to grief and major life changes to marital and relationship issues.

Having lost a parent to suicide at a young age, Becca has long been an advocate of eliminating mental illness stigma and firmly believes in WTCG's mission in increasing counseling accessibility, regardless of the client's socioeconomic status. She is particularly interested in helping individuals who are experiencing suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression, as well as those who have experienced a suicide loss. Becca believes counseling can greatly improve one's mental health and lead to increased self-awareness, which often results in enhanced self-esteem, energy, and overall satisfaction with one's career, relationships, and life.
